Douglass - Cleveland Deed
March 30, 1854

This Indenture, made the Thirtieth day of March in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four, between William S. Cleveland of Salem, Massachusetts of the first part and Frederick Douglass, Rochester, Monroe County, New York of the second part.

Witnesseth, That the said party of the first part in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars of the second part, when duly paid hath sold and By There Presents, doth grant and convey to the said party of the second part his, heirs and assigns, all that tract or parcel of Land, situated in the City of Rochester in the County of Monroe aforesaid being part of lot number nineteen in the third division of township thirteen Seventh Range and is described as follows.

Beginning at the South East corner of said lot number nineteen and in the center of Grand Street then north eighty nine degrees west along the South line three chains and eighty seven links: thence north one degree east at right angles with the south line two chains and twenty eight links: thence South Eighty nine degrees East parallel with the South line aforesaid, four chains and ninety one links to the center ? of Grand street: thence South twenty five degrees and thirty minutes west along said street two chains and fifty links to the place of beginning. Being the same premises conveyed to the said party of the first part by Deed dated August 8th, 1843 and recorded in the Monroe County Clerks office in Liber 62 of Deeds at page 51.
